The Hill

Did you know there’s a world on the other side of that hill?

You’ve dug your heels in the valley’s dirt

You see the hills out in the distance

I can’t drag them here to you

You’ll have to venture out and see it

Breathe non-sea air for yourself

Maybe you’ll stop feeling nauseated

The world is too vast to capture

Can’t hold it in my hands

For you to borrow from me

I swear I’d give it to you if I could

Especially the scenes I’ve already carved into wood

In my mind

There’s still so much to see

Would you see it beside me?

I can’t convey the world’s vastness for you

I hope you see it someday too
